    Born in Mogi das Cruzes in São Paulo State, Brazil, Breves has lived in several places in the southern three states of his country and now resides in Morretes City, Parana State, a small city

Sharing a vision

The idea for his live video feed came originally from his wife Rose, says Breves, as a way of monitoring the preserved areas of the forest without interference, but 10 years ago when they had first conceived of the idea, the Internet was still too slow to support such a project. The idea of placing a live camera in a remote area of the rainforest also presented what were, at the time, insurmountable technical obstacles. However, last year while watching in amazement as huge numbers of birds flocked to his feeders in an urbanized neighborhood of his hometown, an idea struck him. If he could share the image of this natural beauty with others around the world, he thought, perhaps they would fall in love just as he had and understand the importance of presevation.

Preserving the forest

    Breves also owns a small reserve where he is building a Visitor's Centre to support the increasing numbers of birdwatchers coming to his part of the forest.

    The Visitor's Centre will also be the new home of his live cams where several other wildlife can be shown.
