The Atlantic Rainforest is one of the most important eco-regions in the world, but is considered the second most threatened biome on the planet. Only 7% of the original forests remain, and what is left is becoming more and more fragmented. Poaching also still a problem.

Ornithos Reserve main purpose is to host a Visitor's Centre were people around the world will be able to learn more about this amazing biome. It also will be the home of one of our live cams.

Black-legged Dacnis (Dacnis nigripes)* - endemic from Atalntic Rainforest.

Deer (Mazama bororo)*
The Visitor's Centre will also work as a watching base on the fight against poaching and deforestation.
